Erin Barnett is a documentary editor and writer whose films have been broadcast or streamed in more than ten countries across five continents and have also been official selections at many reputable film festivals, including Sundance, Berlinale, Tribeca, Sheffield, HotDOCS, and SXSW.

She most recently edited Academy Award nominee and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus's six-part HBO series, I'LL BE GONE IN THE DARK, which critics are calling "Brilliant... intricate, and absorbing" (Washington Post) and "An impressive feat of direction and editing" (The New York Times). Prior to that, she wrote and edited Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer’s Netflix original documentary THE GREAT HACK, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Emmy Award® for Best Documentary or Non-Fiction Special, a BAFTA Award, and was shortlisted for an Academy Award®.

She utilized her knack for shaping complex narratives and social issues into compelling films in her other acclaimed feature documentary work, which investigates 21st-century epidemics [UNSEEN ENEMY], unearths a centuries-old tradition of systemic exploitation in American agriculture and one group’s plan to fix it [FOOD CHAINS], and delves into the psychology of lying [(DIS)HONESTY- THE TRUTH ABOUT LIES].
